This cottage for rent offers a peaceful environment in which to recharge your batteries with family and friends. Take the opportunity to reconnect with nature. Located just 15 minutes from the picturesque village center of Piopolis, you can discover the authenticity of the region. Outdoor enthusiasts will be delighted by the multitude of activities available. You'll find a public beach for swimming, as well as forest and riverside trails for hiking. You can also rent canoes and kayaks ($) to explore Lac Mégantic. The Piopolis historical and heritage circuit is also ideal for culture and history buffs. What's more, you're just 25-30 minutes from the Lac-Mégantic marina, a must for water sports enthusiasts.
You'll be free to relax in the private 4-season spa for a spa experience in the middle of the forest (we also have an area in the forest for children's fun, including a ninja warrior obstacle course for kids, Finnish bowling, kubb games and a climbing tower).
During your stay, let yourself be lulled by the tranquility of nature, while remaining close to many recreational attractions. With access to (Lac Mégantic) nearby and a host of options for outdoor and winter sports enthusiasts, this cottage rental definitely offers something for everyone! (Mont Mégantic is just 5 minutes away, as is the observatory.) In winter, you can also arrive directly by snowmobile, as trails are accessible right from the cottage. You can follow the local trails to get to the federated trails. Four-wheel drive trails are also nearby, about 5 km from the cottage.
Take advantage of the outdoor fireplace to prolong discussions under the stars with your loved ones. Please note that the cottage's surroundings are quite intimate, but the other cottages are still visible through the trees.
Attractions and Outdoor Activities
Mont-Mégantic National Park: Literally next door to Val-Racine, this park offers exceptional hiking trails (such as the Trois-Sommets loop), snowshoeing and cross-country skiing trails in winter, as well as spectacular viewpoints.
The ASTROLab: Located at the base of the mountain within the national park, this astronomy interpretation center offers space discovery activities, stargazing evenings, and fascinating projections right in the heart of the world's first International Dark Sky Reserve.
The Summit Drive (La Route des Sommets): This driving scenic route crosses the region and connects various impressive peaks. One of the recommended stops along the way is the Maison du Granit in Lac-Drolet, which offers a striking panorama of the region along with a glimpse into local mining history.
Baie-des-Sables Tourist Resort (in Lac-Mégantic): The ultimate destination to enjoy the lake. It features a large, fully equipped public beach, watercraft rentals (kayaks, paddleboards, pedal boats, sailboats), and even an aerial treetop trekking course.
The Swamp Loop (La Boucle du Marécage): A highly popular 54.5 km gravel bike route that forms a loop connecting Val-Racine, Milan, and Scotstown. Ideal for cyclists who love a challenge and peaceful country roads.
Magnetic Hill Interpretation Center (in Chartierville): Just a short drive away, this natural geographical curiosity gives you the impression that your car is rolling uphill on its own while in neutral. It’s a classic and fun stop to combine with a day on the Summit Drive.

Fromagerie La Chaudière: Located in Lac-Mégantic, this is a must-stop to stock up on fresh daily cheese curds (the famous "Skouik-Skouik"), fine cheeses, or to grab a bite at their dairy bar and lunch counter.
La Garnison - Microbrasserie & Resto-Pub: An excellent microbrewery located right by the water in Lac-Mégantic. It is the perfect place to enjoy craft beers brewed on-site and savor a pub-style meal in a warm atmosphere.
Musi-Café: Also located in Lac-Mégantic, this iconic resto-bar offers a varied menu, a great drink selection, and a lively atmosphere, regularly hosting live music performances in the evening.
